“K” shortlisted for prestigious Irish literary award

15 April 2015, Dear LAB Supporter and Friend, LAB is delighted to announce that the novel/memoir “K” by the Brazilian journalist Bernardo Kucinski, which it published in 2013, has just been short-listed for the prestigious International IMPAC Dublin Award. Read more. This is IMPAC’s assessment of the book: “Readers will come away overwhelmed by this powerful work of literature as we did, through the reading and discussing of a remarkable book written in sparse language hovering between memoir and novel, a compelling tale almost impossible to put down. One of the best books the library reading team read lately.” A searing work that hovers between memoir and novel, ‘K’ describes the ordeal endured by the author’s father as he sought clues to the disappearance of his daughter in the 1970s at the hands of the country’s dictatorship. LAB supporters and friends can obtain the book at a discounted price. Details are available here. Best wishes The LAB team
