Newsletter and subscriptions

LAB has been providing updates on Latin American struggles for justice for over a decade. If you’d like to receive our free newsletter, head to our Patreon page and click the link under ‘About Latin America Bureau (LAB)’. 

Through our Patreon, we offer two tiers of subscription:

• ‘LAB Subscribers’ receive our newsletter, e-books and issues of our guest-edited quarterly dispatch, Voz, which conveys the experience and analysis of our partners out in Latin America in long-read articles.
• ‘Friends of LAB’ receive all of this plus video content, paperbacks and acknowledgement in LAB books.

REI Work

In LAB’s new stream of REI (Research Engagement and Impact) work, we collaborate with university researchers to disseminate their work ‘beyond the campus’ to wider publics, in a simple, impactful way. Current partners include King’s College London, Cardiff University and University of East Anglia. For more information, see our REI Deck.

Translation services

LAB is an expanding network of talented translators and interpreters. We translate, develop and re-publish content from partner media outlets whose values and aims reflect our own (learn more about our media partnerships here). We can also find you experienced translators with expert knowledge of Latin American issues. Get in touch for more details. 

Training and internships

LAB offers training and editorial assistance in writing for non-academic audiences, and in interviewing and producing testimonies. We also offer training to university students. This is arranged on a case-by-case basis. Please get in touch if you are interested.

Book and website publishing

LAB offers a full book publishing service, including commissioning, editing, copy-editing, proof-reading, production, printing and distribution in both printed and digital formats – using our own LAB imprint and that of our publishing partners Practical Action Publishing. We also design and populate ‘book websites’ (e.g. Voices of Latin America) and project websites (e.g. Indigenous Brazil Violated), either stand-alone or as subsections of LAB’s wider website, with a unique URL.
