Girls in Play: Sexual exploitation and the World Cup

-

A brilliant comic-strip series by LAB’s São Paulo-based partner A Pública aims to highlight the sexual exploitation of young girls in cities and tourist locations, likely to increase dramatically during the World Cup, with its influx of young, mostly male and relatively affluent fans. Called ‘Girls in Play’, written by De Maio and Andrea Dip, with ‘colors’ by Patricia Almeida and Allessandra de Almeida, it has been translated into English and posted on Buzzfeed. You can view and read the full series here.
