One of the prototypes for the recent ‘parliamentary’ coup in Paraguay was the coup in Honduras on June 28 2009. It is instructive to observe the militarisation of society, increasing repression, and wave of violence which it ushered in, together with the extraordinary danger faced by all who seek to resist the new government.
